The short, honest version.

Almost nothing. Kindstep doesn't ask you to sign up, and there's no database of users on our side. The CV you upload and the postings you paste live in your browser session and disappear when you close the tab.

To summarise your CV or check a posting against it, we send the relevant text to an AI provider (Google Gemini and OpenAI, via the Lovable AI Gateway). The provider processes the request and returns a response. We don't keep a copy on our servers afterwards.

AI providers may briefly retain requests for safety and abuse monitoring, per their own policies. Don't paste anything you'd be uncomfortable having an AI model read.

Kindstep itself doesn't set tracking cookies and doesn't run analytics on you.

We do show ads on this site through Google AdSense to help cover costs. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or learn about opting out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.

When you search for jobs, your search terms are sent to job board APIs (like Adzuna and similar partners) so they can return matching listings. We don't share your CV with them — only the search query and location.

Kindstep isn't intended for people under 16. Please don't use it if you're younger than that.

If anything material changes about how data is handled, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Since there are no accounts, there's no email list to notify — checking back here is the way.
